Child growth & development in Ranchi.
Is my child growing well? Are they reaching their milestones on time? These are the questions every parent asks — and regular growth and development checks answer them, catching any concern early while reassuring you the rest.
Growth & development, in brief
Weight, height and head size on growth charts, and developmental milestones.
Sitting, crawling, walking, first words — checked against the usual ranges, which are wide.
Most children are fine; checks catch the few with a concern early, when help works best.
Routine checks in infancy, or any time you have a worry about growth or development.
What growth monitoring really tells you
Children grow and develop at their own pace, and the normal range is wide — one healthy toddler walks at 10 months, another at 16. Growth and development monitoring isn’t about hitting a fixed target; it’s about tracking a child’s own pattern over time against standard charts, so that both normal variation and genuine concerns are seen clearly.
At each check, the paediatric team plots weight, height and (in babies) head size, and asks about milestones — how a child moves, plays, communicates and interacts. A single measurement matters less than the trend: a child steadily following their own curve is usually thriving, while faltering growth or a plateau is a signal worth looking into.
Most of the time, the result is reassurance — and clear guidance on feeding, sleep and stimulation. Where there is a real concern — faltering growth, a possible developmental delay — catching it early means help (nutrition, therapy or investigation) works far better. Dr. Jayaprakash and the team give parents a straight, calm answer either way.
